Description
Defensive Handgun 1 is a beginner level course designed to build upon the skills taught in the NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting class. This course reviews the fundamentals (stance, grip, sight alignment, sight picture, marksmanship), then moves on to introduce new skills and concepts that are important for using your handgun in a defensive situation such as:
- properly drawing from a holster
- efficient reloads
- fixing malfunctions
In addition, participants will be taught several drills that they can do on their own to improve.
Required Items
Participants will be required to bring the following items with them:
- Handgun (this course is designed for semi-auto pistols but can be done with a revolver)
- 250 rounds of appropriate ammunition
- Outside the waistband holster
- Eye protection
- Ear protection
- Extra magazine
- Magazine pouch
Rates
Small Group (1-5 people): $500
Large Group (6-10 people): $1000
Participants must be 18 or older.
