NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting

Description

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting course teaches the basic knowledge, skills, and attitude for owning and operating a pistol safely.  This is a foundational course geared towards people with very little to no experience with handguns.  This course lasts approximately 8 hours and includes both classroom and range instruction.

Topics covered include:

  • Safety
  • Parts and operation
  • Shooting fundamentals
  • Cleaning and maintenance

Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Pistol Shooting handbook, and a Certificate of Completion upon successfully passing the exam.

Required Items

Students must bring the following items with them to class:

  • Handgun
  • Holster
  • 200 rounds of appropriate ammunition
  • Eye protection
  • Hearing protection

Rates

Small Group (1-5 people): $375

Large Group (6-10 people): $750

Participants must be 18 or older.
